National Instruments is looking to work with Formula Student Teams on Datalogging and Embedded Systems. If you are interested in learning how NI can work with your Formula Student Team, please contact our UK academic team.
The judging of these awards will take place during the Formula Student Event by National Instruments staff. Teams who are interested in being judged for the award can contact us in advance to arrange a time for us to view your car.
This award recognises the team that most successfully implements control systems and sensor measurement systems within the design, development and deployment of their car.
From on-board data structural test to electric car management systems, live telemetry to post race analysis this award showcases software-based innovation and discovery in Formula Student cars.
The winning team will recieve a Formula Student Development Kit. The kit includes:
Extensive use of data aquisition using over 80 sensors throughout the car to rigorously test and validate the design.
Monitored continuous race data in order to improve the vehicle using a multi channel data aquisition approach. Enabling the team to evolve the car for future races.
Recognising the team who have most innovatively incorporated commercial off-the-shelf embedded control systems in the vehicle. A focus is given to software defined solutions using the newest industry relevant products to create.
